Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information the Insurance Council of Zimbabwe collects through this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain.
Last updated: 27 June 2026
Who is responsible
The Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ) is responsible for the personal information collected through this site. For any question about your information, or to make any request below, contact us at icz@icz.co.zw.
What we collect
- What you send us. If you call, email or use a contact link, we collect what you give us: your name, contact details and the content of your enquiry.
- Basic visit data. We use privacy-first analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. This is aggregate only. It does not identify you, set cookies, or track you across other sites.
We do not collect anything else, and we do not buy or sell personal information.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use what you send only to respond to you and to run the council. Where the law asks for a lawful basis, ours is your consent when you choose to contact us, and our legitimate interest in replying and keeping the site working.
Who we share it with
We keep your information within ICZ and the service providers that run the site for us: our website host (Cloudflare Pages) and our privacy-first analytics provider (Cloudflare Web Analytics). They process data on our instructions only. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. It is built cookieless and uses analytics that store nothing on your device, so there is nothing for you to accept or manage and you will not see a cookie banner. For the full detail, see our Cookie Policy. You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send us only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record, then remove it. Visit analytics are aggregate and are not tied to you.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it. Email icz@icz.co.zw and we will act on it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), the authority for data protection under the Cyber and Data Protection Act, 2021.
Keeping it safe
The site runs on reputable hosting with HTTPS, so traffic between you and the site is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send.
Where your data is handled
The site and its analytics are served from Cloudflare's global network, so data may be processed on servers outside Zimbabwe. These providers maintain recognised data-protection safeguards.
Changes
If we change how the site handles data, we update this notice and change the date at the top.
This is a basic starter notice provided with this website, not formal legal advice. It reflects how this site handles data as built. If the council handles sensitive or large-scale personal data, a quick review by a local lawyer is worthwhile.
